Take part in this year’s AI Event for students!

Once again, we would like to invite students to participate in a weeklong AI focused hackathon. You will be presented with three very different assignments putting both your AI competencies and your creativity to the test. You can choose to participate alone, or in a team.

Are you worthy to claim the title “Danish National Champion in AI 2023” and the first prize of DKK 40,000?

Time and venue:

November 10-17, 2023

November 9, 2023 at 23:59: Registrations close

November 10, 2023 at 10.00: Virtual kick-off with use-case reveal

November 17, 2023 at 14.00: Deadline for final submission of solutions

Danish National Champion in AI 2023

40,000 DKK and the title of “Danish National Champion in AI 2023” will be awarded to the talented winner(s).

5,000 DKK will be awarded to the two runner ups.

It goes without saying that a week of coding fun must be suitably rounded off with a trophy and the presentation of prizes. This will take place on February 1-2, 2024 at the D3A – Danish Digitalization, Data Science, and AI 2024 hosted by Pioneer Centre for AI, Digital Research Centre Denmark and Danish Data Science Academy! Both the winner(s) and runner ups will be invited to take part in the conference.

The Winners 2022

Christian Mølholt and Axel Højmark, won the DM in AI competition for students 2022. Christian and Axel took first place with some particularly well thought out AI solutions.

Christian and Axel chose to compete as a team and called themselves “EZ PC”. The two winners are studying for their BSc in Machine Learning and Data science at the University of Copenhagen.

“The Danish Championship in AI is a great balance of fun and challenge. The competition setup is super flexible, giving you loads of room to get creative. Whether you’re exploring the theory side or diving into deployment, they’ve got the entire ML stack covered. If you’re looking to put your AI skills to the test, we recommend giving this a shot!” – Christian (left) and Axel (middle).

Getting ready for the Danish National Championship in AI 2023

Taking part in DM i AI is intense. During the hackathon we expect you to build and deploy a number of AI models for different use-cases.

To help you prepare of the hackathon we recommend that you look at last years challenges, which can be found here: https://github.com/amboltio/DM-i-AI-2022

About the Danish National Championship in AI for students

The Danish National AI Championship is an annual competition for students. Hosted by Ambolt AI, Danish Data Science Academy and Pioneer Center for Artificial Intelligence.  Formally, it is a weeklong hackathon, testing student’s ability to build and deploy AI models across a range of different disciplines. Less formally, it’s our way of celebrating the talents of the future.

“At Ambolt AI, we decided to create DM i AI to give university students a feel for how it is to build end-to-end AI solutions. We were blown away by how well received the event has been. It was fantastic to watch how the chat developed into a community during the first competitions in 2021 and 2022, with the participants helping one another – despite being competitors. We hope this will also be the case this year and look very much forward to yet another week of code-fun.” –  Team Ambolt AI

“Growing Denmark’s future data scientists lies at the heart of our mission at Danish Data Science Academy. We’re thrilled to partner with DM in AI, where bachelor’s and master’s students can demonstrate their data science and AI creativity and skills. By fostering this collaborative spirit and hands-on experience, we’re #GrowingDanishDataScience.” – Sofie Inari Castella, Managing Director at DDSA

“At The Pioneer Centre for Artificial Intelligence (P1), we’re committed to driving human-centric AI innovation on a global stage. Sponsoring DM in AI is a natural fit for us, as it provides a platform for Denmark’s students to showcase their talents. This event aligns with our mission to foster AI excellence, contributing to our international standing in AI development.” – Serge Belongie, P1 Director and Professor
